It is a dream to try and write a 50,000-word renga, but that would mean neverending verses! Maybe one of these days, I will be brave enough to take on that journey. For now, I have (and hate) to say that I withdrew from my unofficial annual NaPoWriMo for this month of November even before it started. Traditionally, many writers would be participating in NaNoWriMo, but for me, I'm a poet. Writing a novel is a bit too difficult for me, so I usually do my own November NaPo. Unfortunately, my November NaPo didn't happen as school and life got in the way. Nevertheless, I can always look forward to April's official NaPo in 2010! I can't wait! Interestingly, I guess I can safely say that I didn't ignore November NaPo completely as one of my writing projects was to experiment with a solo renga. I guess November wasn't a lost cause after all.

November 2009 – Solo Renga #1

a paper doll

laid down
her blue eyes close

Reading it once again, it was an interesting piece, but I wish I had more time to work on it! Sadly, the last day was the 16th of November. I'm sure it would have ended nicely. I hope you, my dear friends and readers, have enjoyed reading this piece.

Took an LJ day off for Thanksgiving, and here's the poem I wrote for that day! Enjoy!

Today I am loved,
Happily blessed with gifts
And miracles this past year. There was
Not a time when I did not find
Kindness in those around me or
Smiles that made my heart rise above my sorrows.
Giving a little of my time and hands take me
Into God's forgiving grace and
Very much closer to His kingdom, every
Individual is an angel I befriend down the road with
New adventures, new beginnings. Sometimes, I am afraid to
Go forward, but prayer is my song of faith, dispelling all uncertainty.
